MIND BOGGLERS FOR BLOGGERS - FIND THE RATIO

A ship is twice as old as the ship's boiler was when the ship was as old as the boiler is.

Find the ratio of the boiler's age now to the ship's age now.

b. 7 years back ship - 14 and boiler - 7 (ratio 2:1)

one variable is missing in your question. hence it leads to multiple possibilities

No Ranga. You haven't got it right. The age of the ship that was should be the same of the age of the boiler is.
